Acetophine is a potent analgestic drug and it is up to 8700 times stronger than morphine by weight. It is a derivative of the more well-known opioid etorphine. Acetophine is used as a very potent veterinary painkiller and anesthetic medication, primarily for the sedation of large animals such as elephants, giraffes and rhinos. It is a Schedule I controlled substance in the United States. Its DEA Administrative Controlled Substances Control Number is 9319 and the one salt in use, acetorphine hydrochloride, has a freebase conversion ratio of 0.93.
History of Acetorphine
Acetorphine was developed in 1966 by the Reckitt research group that developed etorphine. Acetorphine was developed for the same purpose as etorphine itself, namely as a strong tranquillizer for use in immobilizing large animals in veterinary medicine. However despite showing some advantages over etorphine, for instance producing less toxic side effects in giraffes, acetorphine was never widely adopted for veterinary use, and etorphine remains the drug of choice in this application.
Personal Reflection 1. By this project I learnt several things. I learnt about kinds, advantage and disadvangtage of drugs. 2. In the future I would like to learn about concering drug. First, effect of drug in society. Second, solutions for drug problem. Finally, legal and illegal drugs. 3. I enjoy about using this learning environment making my own website, don't have to use e-mail to do my work and can see other peoles' Wiki. 4. I dislike about using this learning environment researching informatinon, designing website and hard to edit. 5. I prefer traditional written essays to creating a Wiki page for assessment becuase writing essays we just need to write essays,but creating Wiki page we also need to design the page. 6. I feel about contributing to other people’s pages wrong because I'm changing other's page with no permission and I don't know what they are planning to do. 7. I don't know how I'm going to feel about other people contributing to my page, because nobody did it. maybe it is because it's hard to find information about acetorphine. 8. I feel about self-assessment, it's very good however, I did try my best to find informations about it. 9. I feel personally drug was more beneficial than love in semester one because for love we just find out some songs related love however, for drug we find out effect, advantage and disadvantage of drug, which is on of important part of this society now day. 10. If I could choose my own topics for PSE I would like to study alchol.
